It's been 15 years overdue, but I just realized something in the past few months.

I love being Indian.I love having a culture. I love having traditions and customs. I love speaking Hindi and [on occasion] Punjabi. I love eating Indian food. I love sitting down with my parents and watching Hindi movies, and then crying at the beautiful love

I like my heritage too. Being Italian, British and Belgium. It'd be better if I could speak Italian though. I'd love that. Such a pretty language. Nonny [grandmother in Italian] didn't want my mother to learn Italian because she wanted my mom to be completely American. It's really very disappointing. I wish she taught my mother, so that it would be passed down to me. Oh well.
