Well, it's that time of year again and here are my predictions for Macworld SF 2006, separated into three categories - the likely, less-than-likely and my own personal wishlist.

Likely:1. iLife '06 with upgrades to iTunes (6.0.x), iPhoto 6, iMovie HD 2, iDVD 6, Garageband 3 and a new addition to the lineup ( Read more... )

AirTunes 2 would be cool. Better if it would stream any video you might have on hand. *whistles innocently*

I am reminded of purchasing my iPod and a little clear sticker over the screen that said, without a hint of irony or saracasm "Don't steal music." I swear, I could hear or see the thing winking at me whenever I read that sticker.

Thing is, IF they do that, make it where it can stream any video, they won't be able to keep them in stock.

The success of the iPod was based on something similar, which was that it played straight MP3 files from your existing collection. No software obfuscation like Sony's players, no copyright weirdness, just dump 'em on there and play 'em.

Shuffle doesn't make sense anonymous January 9 2006, 16:49:21 UTC
Why add a screen to the shuffle, and make a new form factor of iPod, when you could just make a lower end Nano? IIRC, a large percentage of the cost of the nano is the flash. Keeping things the same and interchangable saves money. I'm predicting the end of Shuffle, a 1GB Nano, and a 4GB Nano to fill in the iPod Mini Gap.

Hmmm. I never thought of that! But for those who like the small size of the shuffle, why make the 1GB bigger in the form of a nano? You have some mighty interesting predictions at your blog....do you happen to havea blog here? I'm gonna be keeping score tomorrow :)
