the lingering stench of old urine fills the air. there's a girl huddled in a corner of the subway car rocking back and forth. she's humming her favorite tune, eyes closed, her head lolling to the beat of the wheels. she feels safe

I like but it might need more filling out between

"and the ghostly faces of companions that have
come and gone with time, flash before him."

and,

"the fleshy claws come out from the darkness"

maybe a glint of shiny saliva catches the mans eye, when terror forgoten since childhood breaks his silence and he starts to wail like the girl wishes she could.

i forgot to say thanks for the input. i'll be posting more ideas. keep in mind that these are things i'm drawing really. i gotta go to bed. goodnight.
