Never Let Go - oo2

Because Simon Park isn’t the type who gives up easily. Because he isn’t the kind of guy who handles rejections well. Because he’s not a person who takes a ‘no’ so casually.

Those were precisely the reasons why he rushed out of class the following week after that incident, in hopes of catching her as soon as she ended her class.

It was easy, getting hold of her schedule. People would do almost anything for money.

Well, except for Wang Fei, that is.

“You have to stop following me,” she told him through gritted teeth when she saw him leaning against the wall, jacket slung over his shoulder, with shades on in the campus.

“Uh uh, I don’t think I can do that,” he replied, as he followed her brisk footsteps, throwing winks along the way. “We need to talk.”

“We, have absolutely nothing to talk about,” she said without turning back.

“I’m sorry, but in case you have forgotten - you slapped me.”

Hearing that, she stopped. Her hand, falling down her side, as she turned around slowly.

“Oh, that.”

“Yeah,” he smirked. “That.”

Fei bit the inside of her cheek as she held his gaze steadily. A few seconds of silence passed between them, before she leaned in closer to him until their faces were touching.

Simon held his breath, swallowing hard as he tried to ignore the sudden racing of his heartbeat. He inhaled the soft, sweet fragrance of her perfume, which he had to admit - he liked it a lot more than he should.

Lips grazing his ear, she whispered, “You very damn well deserve that. And if you ever do again what you did that night to me, I won’t hesitate to reward you with more than just a mere slap.”

When she stepped back from him, Simon could see the small smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. She gave him a knowing look, before walking away and leaving him behind, like nothing had happened.

Simon watched her go, determination crawling up to him like never before.

He was going to get her, one way or another.

“Tonight,” he said into the phone. “The usual place.”

“But dude, we just went there yesterday. And besides, they said they were worried you’d cause trouble again.”

“I don’t care,” he snapped. “Look, I’m not in the mood to talk now okay. We’ll meet later.”

Simon ended the call and slipped the phone into the front pocket of his jeans. He fished out his car keys and was heading towards the parking lot, when something caught his attention from the corner of his eye.

He saw her, Fei to be precise, talking to a guy who didn’t look like he was studying there. Simon watched them with much interest, as she gestured with her hands and him just shaking his head repeatedly. It looked like they were arguing over something huge.

And then, it happened. She shoved him by the shoulders and impulsively, the guy’s hand flew up, ready to hit her. Simon took a step forward instinctively, wanting to intervene, but then he stopped himself.

Things between him and Fei were still tensed; and if he really wanted to be anywhere near her, he’d better keep his distance for the time being.

And besides, the guy had frozen halfway and seemed to have changed his mind about hitting her. Fei appeared undaunted about the whole thing - even squaring up herself to challenge her opposing party.

Simon smiled to himself.

She was something else, alright.
