Dreams

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.
Pairing: Sakura/Naruto/Sasuke, a bit of Kakashi/Sasuke if you squint.
Summary: When Sakura was a child, she dreamed of a perfect life.
When Sakura was a child, she dreamed of marrying Sasuke-kun and having several pretty children (they all looked like Sasuke-kun, he was too fucking pretty not to give his beauty to his children.) Sasuke-kun would be a gruff gentle husband and a father who pretended to be tough on his children, but they would all have him wrapped around their little fingers. Life would be full of small dramas and be overall perfect.
Sakura never told anyone of that dream (she’d be mortified if Sasuke-kun found out).
To say that her life turned out completely different then she had dreamed of as a child would be an understatement.
She wasn’t married, had no children (yet), and was sleeping with both her teammates. The only thing that was the same was that Sasuke-kun was still fucking pretty (and he was ticklish in bed, but you didn’t hear that from her).
Her mother had fainted when she found out and her father glared at Sasuke-kun and Naruto and said he’d kill both of them if they ever hurt her. He didn’t care if they were the strongest ninjas ever to walk the earth, he’d find a way. Sakura was pleased, but tried not to be. Naruto grinned and promised to protect her. Sasuke gave her a small smile before quickly frowning and sulking for the rest of the day.
A day later, Ino-pig found out and said that everything made sense now: Sasuke was gay and Sakura was boyish and that’s the only reason that Sasuke had resisted her charm. But nothing could explain Naruto. Sakura had punched her and they both walked away from each other, smiling slightly.
Naruto took Iruka out to lunch a day after that. Iruka didn’t meet Sakura or Sasuke’s eyes for a month. When asked why, Naruto said he’d told Iruka-sensei how they got together. Sakura had slapped him across the back of his head. They didn’t get together until after they accidentally had mind-blowing sex (it was long story involving too much alcohol and Sasuke’s love of tomatoes.)
The only one who wasn’t surprised was Kakashi-sensei. When he found out he grabbed Sasuke-kun’s shoulder and led him somewhere. A few hours later, Sasuke-kun came back, flushing and sulking and refusing to speak for several hours. Kakashi-sensei almost looked pleased.
She’s exchanged a look with Naruto, and they silently agreed not to talk about it.
As she watched Sasuke-kun clutch Naruto’s arm in sleep, she was reminded of that perfect dream with Sasuke. She grinned and rested her head in the nape of Sasuke-kun’s neck and wrapped one arm loosely around Naruto waist and realized she wouldn’t trade that perfect dream for the imperfect life. Because it was real and reality was always better then dreams.
