I decided when I came back from politics burn out, that I would from then on only do what I wanted to do, hang with my friends, pursue my own interests and projects. I spent most of my sca life embroiled in the politics and all it lead to was a nervous breakdown. Today, though it is damn hard to stay out of the politics, especially when one of your friends is a pelican, I work hard to try. I find every time I post becouse of some idiocy I see the nasty little flocks of rabid we pekanese start circling about yapping wildy and showing nasty little pointy teeth; AND I'm in the wrong as I offend political correctness or someone's cherished world view

If I have anything to say here amigo it is that you are right. The politics of the SCA become a dirty game sometimes and you are smart to back away from it! The only reason I am involved at this point is that, in the end, I want more people to fight with. My only focus with the barony is being MOS. I'm leaving the other stuff to the people who like that sort of thing. So just relax, hang out at events, do some fighting and stuff. enjoy the stuff ya like, don't do the stuff you don't. And as for my "sca resume" or worrying about awards? it took me 14 years to get a AOA and I'm still watching people who do nothing get their gouttes and jambes. I stopped caring about that a LONG time ago.
