Manager’s farewell party - it wasn’t her last day but it was a Saturday night after work and we had a farewell party for her at a restaurant and some of the students made cakes and it was really nice.

Sunday the 23rd
Sunday - Today I was woken up by the doorbell again. Climbing down the ladder half asleep is not going to work every time, I’m pretty sure at some point I’ll fall. Today it was not the delivery guy, but Scott telling me to go bowling with him and Shoko. So I got up and got ready and he fixed my broke ass bike and we went. Thursday the 20th
Thursday night I got lost in my neighborhood, and also my bike broke through no fault of my own. I went outside to practice not falling off of it and found it with the chain around the pedal, so I tried to fix it which really didn’t work at all. Tuesday and Wednesday the 18th and 19th
Tuesday - stressful, nothing really happened. I felt homesick at night and wanted to do something after work to get my mind off it but nobody was trying to have fun. I went home and went to sleep early.
Wednesday - work was long again, I have class for 5 hrs straight. One of my students was significantly late though, so the break was nice. I let ( Read more... ) -

Sunday and Monday - On Sunday, I bummed around and bought $50 worth of groceries and had surprisingly little to show for it. I went into the import grocery store with a 5000 yen bill and figured no way I can spend more than this. Saturday - I was late for work. Huge embarrassment, but apparently I’m allowed 2 weeks to screw up without getting fired. Friday - I moved into my apartment. Its great and the last teacher sold me her expensive kerosene heater for not too much. My futon was delivered this morning and the guy even took away some of the nasty, stained old futons that were taking up closet space. The place has all hardwood floors, a loft for the futon, and came with a kotatsu and a pink ( Read more... ) -

I have arrived
