LiveJournal is suspending blogs with illegal activities listed in their Interests keywords

If you go to any online bookstore, you'll see books classified by keywords that include references to illegal activities. As a friend of mine just pointed out, if LiveJournal is consistent about this, it will have to shut down all the crime fiction LJs that list "murder" as an interest.

Well, it can at least alert them to a fact that a lot of comms are being deleted that aren't related to the topics they were targetting. And my experience has been that, when companies don't hear the squeaky wheel, they tend not to investigate whether their actions are correct. :)

But yes, I agree that what's most needed in this situation is good legal advice.

We're trying to get a count of all the people in fandom, in some form or another. Please, if you don't mind, help spread the word about fandom_counts--it's nothing but a census. Join and be counted--the LJ equivalent of 'How many mirrors are in your house?'
