I never would have guessed this was written in 2001. The ending especially made me think it was much more recently.

Pagers, fax machines, dial-up modems, no cell phones, no PDAs . . . Yup, I wrote it in 2001. It's amazing how much technology changes in just six years.

I haven't completed reading the novel yet, but so far I'm really enjoying it. The way it's written with attention to fine detail makes it feel incredibly intimate.

Also, I spotted a typo in Chapter 4:

He released his fingers quickly from the crumpled metal and said stubbornly, "But we are worse of than some other people."
