Goodbye Laney

I just got back to Martinsville.. My dad drove down to NC to tell me in person that my ex girlfriend/one of the best friends I've ever had, died last night in her sleep. I don't know the details yet, or when arrangements will be made for her funeral, but I'll be going. We hadn't been "together" since 2000, but she was there for me and vice versa

this is horrible news. my heart and thoughts are with you and everyone that was touched by her in her short lifetime. she must have been an amazing person, and i can't even imagine your shock and pain right now. i'm here if you need me.

Thank you Alli... She was a sweetheart and she would go out of her way and do anything to make someone's life a little better. She was full of life (overflowing even) and it was impossible to be around her and not have a great time. I don't know what happened to take her at such a young age, and I still have so many precious keepsakes and cards she made me, literally boxes of time she spent sneaking around in class, at work, on vacation with her mom, etc.. Time she made for me no matter what to show me she cared and wanted to make me smile. Being in this room is hurting so badly because I know every spot on the walls where she wrote "I Love You", etc.. and we spent so much time here. :( I'm so grateful that Lara understands and my pain doesn't upset her in a bad way. I just called Laney's best girl friend in this town earlier this evening and I just said "Laney's mom called this morning..." and she said "NO... Steve, no... WHAT HAPPENED" I promised to keep her up on all the details of the funeral and such, and I would like to be a
