She watches her mate with awe as he pulls the ring from his last victim's finger and places in on his own long, pale, white one. When he is focused on the hunt nothing will stop him. He is the ultimate tracker, and they both know it with pride. He turns to smile towards her, eyes brilliant red, a glint of deep satisfaction in them.
"I knew we would corner him just before that police man would be able to reach us. We've done well. I think it's time to proceed north. Along the Olympic Mountain Range?" She says with a smile as she takes his hand. "Excellent" he answers her. "Something tells me a great challenge will be presented to us there." He inhales the sharp, artic air around them and turns.
"Laurent!" he calls. "It's time to move on."

Bella smiled back in return, pleased to know that the Cullens were all happy to welcome her into their family. Bella sighed exasperated. She studied her new ring for a moment. “It was Edward’s mother’s you know.” Alice commented. “I’m sure she would be proud to know you’re wearing it Bella.” Esme said lovingly.
“Of course she would.” Edward whispered into Bella’s ear. “She’d always spoke of giving her ring to my future wife someday.” He said kissing the ring on Bella’s hand.

“What am I supposed to say to her?” “What you told Charlie.” He answered simply. “Easy for you to say.” She muttered to herself. Edward laughed his beautiful musical laugh and helped her dial the number. “It’ll be fine, I promise.” He whispered.
“Hello Mom? I have some news for you.”

He lay his head on the pillow prompted up on the couch and closed his eyes for a moment, as Emmett ranted endlessly about irritable grizzlies. His thoughts slowly turned to Bella Swan. He entertained himself for a moment as he pictured bringing her to the house to introduce her to Emmett. The image of those deep brown eyes filled his head, accompanied by the sweet scent of her blood.
It seemed that all he could think about lately was Isabella Swan. “Let it go Edward.” Emmett had told him. “She’s just another human.” But he couldn’t let it go. Was this what dreams were like? He opened his eyes. “Thinking about Bella Swan again?” grinned Emmett.
