i just got back from the gay pride parade in Boston
it was sooo much fun!!
i went with missi and we kept joking about how everyone was gonna think we were a couple!
lol
there were tons of drag queens and kings!! and "dykes on bikes" and like half naked dudes wearing nothing but tiny skivvy's and topless chicks with tape on their nips and shit painted on their stomach that was like "i love my cunt"
our governor deval patrick (i voted for him && he's the first black governor EVER!) was in the parade which was wicked cool!
its awesome!
they hand out EVERYTHING!
missi filled a HUGE bag full of shit, mostly they hand out little baggies with condoms and lube! lol. and she got a small beach ball, BEADS GALORE, 2 shirts, a cone that says "speak out" or some shit like that, a TON of flyers for local clubs. everything, it was so awesome!
and there's another one next week in providence so we're gonna go to that too!
its at night so everything is lit up with glowsticks and stuff and 2 of the guys we were there with are gonna dress up in drag! it should be the shit!PLUS on the way home they didnt take our tickets so we can use that one!
and i didnt really spend any money, just something to get food cause we were there like 2 hours early and the train tickets, round trip was only 14.50, so it was wicked awesome!!
as an outsider it was actually kind of moving to witness these people fighting for their rights. gay people are our generation's blacks fighting to be equal. i mean how pathetic is it to vote on people's right to marriage? think about it, a bunch of older, mostly white STRAIGHT men voting on the rights of gay people? those men have never had to worry about who they can marry so they dont know what its like to be discriminated against because of a small element of their life. and we were standing right in front of the state house as the parade went by, it was kind of an eye-opener. one part of the parade was a bunch of couples with signs that said "just married" and as they went by my friend jim held up his hand pointing to his wedding ring and so did his husband, the couple on the float waved and said congratulations and one blew a kiss. it was really awesome.
i cant wait for next week.
