At the end of August we went for a day trip to Dresden which is the capital of my beautiful home state Saxony. Today we went downtown to climb the tower of St.Nikolai. From the tower we saw a couple in the street just distributing heartshaped balloons to people passing by and guests. So we waited until they would let them fly.

Many buildings in the downtown area of Leipzig have been restored since German unification. Many houses turned from simple ugly grey stone buildings into architectural gems. After being restored many more of the beautiful original details became visibile. This house in Petersstrasse is just one example.

Yesterday I went hiking with my family in Saxon Switzerland, a mountaineous region in my homestate Saxony. The area is characterized by sandstone rockformations that are used for climbing. I took a few images at the New Townhall in Leipzig last week. Today's
image was also taken at the Obere Wandelhalle. Unfortunately I was not
able to find out what/ whose sculpture that is. But I loved its
placement in the frame with the light from the staircase behind it being
so bright.

Don't you just love it. You know you wanna go up to a higher floor in a building and as you reached the only elevator in that building you find this sign on the door "Elevator out of order".
