I have serious personal reasons for not registering to vote until now, so we no talkie about that part....but I really want to hear what you have to say about which party I should chose to be with. Your party affiliation only matters for the primary. California already had the primary.

The league of women voters has awesome voter information.

I am going to vote for whoever the democrat is. An old anarchist saying I once heard goes "When in doubt, close your eyes and vote Democrat."

George W. Bush has royally fucked this country up for 8 years. We need him gone. McCain will win if not enough people vote for the Democrat. If you vote for Ron Paul that is a vote that could be going to get rid of the Republican administration. McCain WILL continue the war. The war is bad for everyone. Therefore vote for Barak Obama.

Plus, as Democrats go, Obama really isn't bad. I wanted Hillary but she isn't quite as good as Obama on the issues.

I'm voting Democrat for much the same reason as vampyrecat, but I'm specifically supporting Obama because, after researching the platforms of each candidate (including the Republicans--I'm registered Independent), he is the only one I trust to vote the way that I would vote on the issues at hand. It's not just his oratory, excellent though it may be; it's his common-sense approach and (at least seemingly) genuine concern for the well-being of everyone (Republicans included). I'm especially impressed that he turned down an extremely lucrative and well-connected position after he graduated from law school to work as a community organizer in Chicago. Given the ridiculous greed of the majority of those in office (a primary reason I dislike Hillary so much), it's refreshing, to say the least.

I do like what Ron Paul has to say, but he has zero chance of winning, and I will NOT throw my vote away when so much is at stake. McCain MUST. NOT. WIN. ESPECIALLY if he takes Huckabee as a running mate, as has been suggested. Huckabee was a shitty

redistricting is what they use party affiliation for too. I say everyone register republican.

I don't have the brain power ATM to explain how they do it, but the governor does redistricting for each state. And they tend to shuffle voters around to represent certain demographics, and thus make their state delegates 'vote' the way they want them too. Which is how they get away with winning elections in states that majority voted for a candidate, but the counties/districts voted by electoral college. Which is how we actually elect people.

I say everyone register republican. Vote on which candidates they get to choose into office.
