It's not your fault Davanna got fired. They didn't fire her for being not as good as you, they fired her because her work wasn't good period. The reason Brian put it to you the way he did was so you wouldn't think you're getting the axe next. He was just trying to reassure you about how happy they are with you, he didn't mean they were letting her go because you're better.
