I can't sleep so I guess I'll post this question I've been thinking about the last year or so

I don't think it ever caught on in society as a whole. I wonder sometimes if it is a worthwhile undertaking. English draws so much from French, Latin, and to a lesser extent other romance languages that have gender built into every noun, that I think it's somewhat built into how are brains are wired to think.
