Anyone got any ideas on how to get taken seriously (update) in a work context?

Knee-cap a few of the bastards with a ball-pein hammer!

What exactly are you trying to be taken seriously with?

Context is everything.

This is both a response to your question and a question to your question.

I agree. Taken seriously when? Where?

Be rich, preferably beautiful, and powerful.

If you want something more practical, yeah, more context.

Context, context, context.

Also: not caring too much about whether the other person is taking one seriously or not, because one is not relying on them, is often good.

The context to my question is mainly at work. I'll update the original post to reflect this.

Mainly, I feel my contribution is undervalued, and suspect the reason for this has to do with delivery, rather than quality of commentary, but am not sure where my delivery is falling down.

However, I'm not sure it's limited to work. I do have a general feeling that some people get more taken seriously than others throughout life.

I have found that publicising one's work is important sometimes. It feels silly and pointless, but it can be very valuable for getting recognition ( ... )
