Just thinking aloud ;)
I think it's rather funny that now, since I finally have found a balance when it comes to write and post fics without worrying they could be "not good enough", reviews seem to snow upon me? I mean, I have fretted for so long if I should post my fics and drabbles, was nervous beyond count when I did it, and felt disheartened when they did not get as much feedback as I would have liked.
I think I posted a little rant on that matter a while ago here on LJ. I never felt that insecure about my originial writings, though. Is it because my fanfics are mostly written in English, and not being a native makes it more difficult for me too see mistakes, or more subtle things? The last weeks I seem to have regained much more self-esteem on that matter, mostly because I realised I like my little fics, and enjoy writing and re-reading them. :)
And now I am that far that I don't let my contentment (or the practical need to improve some stories) depend on reviews, they come rushing in, even for fics I've written about a year ago, and I almost forgot about them. ;) Those reviews make my day when I have barely time to read and write fic, and give me so much encouragement. :) I think I have improved since the end of 2002, when I began to roam the LOTR fandom for the first time online, and it makes me feel quite proud. :D
I also want to thank my faithful readers and beta readers here on LJ (you know who you are! *hugs*), and apologise to those who are begging me to continue a certain WIP. ;) I have some pages written, but still not put into order. And I seriously think about not posting another chapter until I actually will have finished the thing. :p The periods between posting are far too long.
RL is mean, but from Thursday on I can finally write and read a bit more. I'm on withdrawal now since a few weeks, and I can't wait to dive into LOTR fanfic once more! I only skimmed my flist the last weeks, and I'm sorry for that. I'll soon be around more frequently. :)
