Things I Love Lately: The Hunger Games trilogy (by Suzanne Collins)

I believe I heard something about The Hunger Games through an article listing books to try now that the Harry Potter series is complete. Ender's Game was also on that list, so I figured I'd give the book a try and downloaded a sample on my Kindle. (Can I just say, by the way, that I am completely in love with my Kindle? Lenny Kravitz is an odd choice, but the casting has been very interesting so far, and I have high hopes for the movie, especially with Collins writing the screenplay (she came from TV, so she knows her screenwriting).

I loved the books too, unsurprisingly.

HOLY MOLY SOMEHOW I MISSED YOUR ORIGINAL HUNGER GAMES POST. Or maybe forgot about it. But YES. To all of your review. (And I too have a weakness for dystopian fiction, so I was probably predisposed to like these books as well.)

The Lenny Kravitz thing bothers me because Cinna is my favorite character after Katniss and Peeta. I really hope they do him justice.

I'm definitely keeping an open mind about Lenny Kravitz, but it still seems like a really odd choice to me. I just hope they do Cinna justice... he's my favorite character after Katniss and Peeta. I do have to say that I'm excited about Elizabeth Banks as Effie... I think she'll easily pull it off... and intrigued by the choice of Woody Harrelson as Haymitch (who I initially pictured as kind of a fat, sloppy character given his constant drunkenness, so the choice startled me at first ( ... )
