That wasn't really what I'd had in mind when I thought of punishment... But even if it looks like there's nothing else to do for her, we can't give up. I was taught by someone very close to me that you always have to believe in your client. Trust that they are innocent. We're working on that, but if she's lost her memories, is there really a point to saving her?

I'm betting there is a way to restore her memory... and probably to get out own back as well.

The residents give us riddles every so often. The results are usually not very amusing for the rest of us.

"Trust that they are innocent" seems a remarkably foolish attitude to take towards a profession where there are no absolutes.

If the state of the dining room is anything to judge by, the mansion plans for us to drown in greasy fast food.

That's what I was taught. I don't take a client unless I can trust them and I've won nearly every case because of it.

Well at least we'd be well-fed when we died.
