I have now been sick for two and a half weeks. Not vomitous-sick or death-bed-sick - just... sick.

Like an icecube dropped in water: you know how they fracture internally with a series of clicks and, yes, squeaks and pops? I imagine the thawing poles are making much the same kind of sounds right now. Only louder.
