Aside from making you sick for 24 hours and leaving you without control of your special abilities for a week once removed... they have the ability to turn you against your friends and make you go berserk. I've seen a number of different things we're certain the chips did too... though it was never proven.

Personally, I've explored most of the city, a little outside of it and across the lake at Spero. Friends of mine explored Accido and Dissimulo, two other cities a few days travel outside our own. I believe Denmark found some things too.

I forgot an entire 3 days worth and woke up to a warm hardboiled egg under me and a bra on my head. Neither of which were mine I should add.

I was later filled in by my roommates though that I spent quite a bit of the time shedding blue feathers and insisting on making a nest with my brother. Sounds like a blast if I could only remember it.

I've had my chip taken out. It was very unpleasant. I was sick the day after. The following few days--it got better with time--I couldn't concentrate, because I heard every bloody animal and bug in the entire city chattering away like they'd not spoken for ages.
