For at least half dozen years this candy shop next to the farmers market has had the slogan painted to the window: "Sweets are the best medicine against sadness!"
If not best, I tend to think, whenever passing the shop, at least the most accessible. As it does not matter do you mourn a loss of a job and are not, due to health, age or qualifications reasons, likely to find another; or may-be someone you used to love is not part of your life any more or may-be you are ill and cannot afford neither doctors nor the drugs. So the sadness.
But it is true that even if broke, you can pick up 5 bigger or 10 smaller returnable soft drink bottles - and the closest place where you can return them for cash is just behind the corner, on the farmers market:
... and for the cash you get you can buy a Snickers bar.
