no, this is absolutely not true. I was born in San Antonio and thought that I wanted to get out until I moved to Houston for 5 years, after which I came back to San Antonio, there is no place like home. I really think that when people are scrambling to get out of somewhere its not really the place, its how that person feels about Their life, like their in a rut or something, and the easiest thing to scapegoat is Where you are, not What you're doing.

i am pretty sure i will die if i don't get out of here. i think it just has something to do with this place. and the idea that as much as everyone says it barely anyone will ever do it and that makes the need for someone like me much more urgent.

Its the adventurous side of us. Plus the whole the grass is always greener concept. Most of us when we get to that paradise that we have made for ourselves in our heads will realize that its just like home...minus friends and family. So we will return home and maybe even appreciate it a bit. Even those of us from Vista.
