Artmeus looked at the note and sighed. He'd been so busy with assignments lately that he hadn't had much time to vist or get to know the lovely young woman and her friend Rak, who had been so instrumental in helping to thwart Loveless -- not once but 3 times!
He sat down at his work table and pulled a sheet of paper from the drawer. Dipping his pen into the ink well, he wrote the following message:
My dear Arusha,
It is with a heavy heart that I learn of your impending depature. I hope your absence will be a short one. If you are available, I wonder if you and your friend Rakj'a would be kind enough to join me for dinner at my train on Thursday evening? Please feel free to RSVP via return pigeon.

Arusha unfolded the note, idly feeding Arabella some crumbled cake. Her eyebrows climbed. "Oh, my ..."
Thursday ... she grimaced, instinctively looking up at the sky. She hurried to find Rakj'a, and although the discussion was slightly stressed, they agreed that they could hold their plans just long enough to accept the invitation.
Arusha hurriedly penned a response for Arabella to carry home;
Artemus - Thank you for your kind invitation. We would be most delighted to attend. Please let us know the appropriate time on Thursday evening, and whether the dinner will be formal or casual.
Artemus fed Arabella a few of her favorite seeds, stroking her lovingly, before setting her back in her coop. Having read Arusha's response, he quickly penned a reply and gave the return message into the care of Henrietta, who was itching to stretch her wings.
My dear Arusha,
Would 8:30 be acceptable? Please feel free to dress casually for dinner. I hope you and Rakj'a like French cuisine.

(OOC: I'll be home from work and ready to "play" at about 8:30pm US EDT if you're available. Artie will set up a new entry in his LJ, rather like setting the table, for dinner. While he won't be in formal evening attire, he will be quite dapper in his best blue suit and gold vest. Tempting tho it was, the mun did not force him to wear an apron that says "kiss the cook." *g*)
