Why do you say that? If anything, it gave me reason to quit for good finally (as in putting my token away and giving away some stuff). I just don't have the time to compete with every 75 for the run to 99, and I have 2 "persona non grata" jobs as well, so it would be a difficult run.
Yeah srsly. This is not a good thing. Save yourself the trouble and remember FFXI as the good game it once was. I don't think this is going to be something I want to remember as the FFXI that I adored. Unfortunately I'm going to stick around and check it out...
me leaving mostly was due to the stagnant game doing the same thing day in and out. now there's room of mystery that it once had. and I loved the game and the gameplay, just not doing it day after day. I grew passive and lacked motivation to play things I didn't wanna play. this gives me a chance to play the things I love to a greater extent.
That's the main reason I originally quit. Having my account hacked just finally pushed me over the ledge. At that point in the game I was only logging on because I felt a responsibility to the Linkshell. I didn't enjoy the game or anything about it.
Since using a new character, with a whole new set of goals to achieve, I've found some content in working on some of the goals and such I've set for him. The problem is you don't want to start all over... You still want to be able to play in the endgame, but it's nice to have a character that doesn't feel like everything has already been accomplished.
Another thing to consider would be starting some sort of group or linkshell effort. One of the main reasons I always did this is because of the additional challenge it provides. As a leader or core member of a group working from the ground up, the progression really provides great rewards, in a non-item sense.
