My Story

Well, it's all over. I had my appointment today and everything went fine. I was kind of worried from reading all these horror stories, but everything went really well. I got there and they had me sign in and it took a bit to get my bloodwork back from the lab, it hadn't gotten faxed up when it should have. Apparently I"m A positive. Hey!

Glad to hear that it's over and you've survived nicely. I would never have been able to do that without them knocking me out entirely. You are soooo brave.

A memorial of some kind is a really nice idea, even if it's just symbolic.

I hope your recovery continues to go well and that there's spring back in your step soon!

I"m just so glad it's all over. And I was really surprised at how painless the whole procedure was. I expected a lot worse. I also expected to be a lot more frightened, but I don't know, the nurse was so friendly and Dr.Addison was so nice, it was really easy to keep the fear under control. Up until the day before when I had my big cry I was envisioning just sitting there bawling, with boy holding my hand while I was scared out of my wits. I"m recovering so well I actually called yesterday to check whether or not no bleeding is normal. I didn't bleed for three days, and now I'm just starting to spot. Anyway, I think I've picked a dwarf pomegranate for the thing I'm going to grow. Lives a long time and is representative of the death and rebirth cycle. The seeds need a lot of starting care too so that'll help keep me busy for the next couple weeks.

I am glad that you were finally able to have your abortion. In a country where it is legal, it is horrible that you had to go through all the run-around that you did. And kudos for being so calm - I know my patients are largely freaked out by the whole process and anti-choice propaganda and can let their body get away from them. You are so brave. Concentrate on taking good care of yourself and DEFINITELY follow all of your after-care instructions. You are in my thoughts!
