Well, I went in for my post abortion checkup yesterday and it was sort of.....odd. After waiting naked from the waist down for about twenty minutes, he came in, asked about bleeding and how I was recovering. I said it was fine, light bleeding, stopped after about two weeks. Then he asked if I was on any birth control and I told him I was getting an ( Read more... )

You might want to see a doc to find out why you might not be an ideal candidate for the IUD. What a prick to say that "it's every woman's choice" and then not tell you more so that your choice is *informed*. Geez docs get up my nose sometimes. Meanwhile, I think it's unforgivable that he left the u/s pic where you could see it. I mean, even if he's doing abortions against his own beliefs (which is possible), doing that to you isn't going to change the fact of the abortion.

(PS, sorry to butt in here, but I've been following your story and I just had to speak.)

I already know that there's no reason for me to not be considered for an IUD. He seemed to think I was at risk for an infection from getting an STD. And he knows absolutely nothing about my personal life.

I see. So I feel even more so now that he's morally against abortions, and does them b/c there doesn't seem to be anybody else doing them in your area. Which is kind of noble of him really, but he could keep his passive-aggressive "punishments" out of it. It would explain why his fee is so high.

Yeah, did you ask why he thinks that? Here's some links which talk about IUDs and when they are not considered ideal ( ... )

It's funny because I was told at PP that I WAS the ideal candidate. From what he said it was mostly because I"m not married and the risk for infection from STD"s is higher. Just ridiculous.
