When last we joined Dave, he was getting over a flu while preparing to clean up his ransacked storage unit. The ten days or so since then has been pretty damned busy to say the least. We went out on Saturday the 17th and cleaned up things. I still don't know exactly what's gone, but I know I'm missing 3 or 4 small boxes of stuff. I know I had a box ( Read more... )

God, her mom sounds like mine. Coincidentally, mine turns 61 next month. Maybe it's a generational thing with the Baby Boomers? No saving, no preparing, taking everything for granted and not even fathoming that things could go wrong. I wonder what part of history ingrained that behavior?

Bleeeeh. Sorry for all the crap that happened lately, you guys.

Until the day your mother-in-law accuses you of stealing her panties and giving it to girls that sneak in through your bedroom window, I think things will be generally okay. (Yes, my grandmother really did accuse me of that.) Best of luck to you and Eden.

On the bright side, the whole weather/illness thing is a myth; temperature and humidity have nothing to do with the contraction of bacteria and viruses and whatnot, or the worsening of any of the resulting conditions.

Your MIL needs to learn some class! How old is she?

Anyway. This is obviously a big sacrifice you and Eden are making for someone. Good things come to those who do good things! Just make sure you set your rules and boundaries; don't let anyone walk all over you and your home.
