Music In Film

"Sister Christian" has a strong place in my heart. Because it plays during an emotional scene in Superstar; not up to par with the likes of Boogie Nights, but it is one of my favorite films that I can recite most of the lines from.

Mikey's right, and that scene is one of the reasons why I love that movie. The entire movie has a great soundtrack, and "Sister Christian" is so effective at adding to the mounting tension at that scene. I can easily empathize for the characters in that scene even though I've obviously experienced nothing like that. The song choice just makes you feel it so much more.

Quentin Tarantino always has great, fitting soundtracks, too. "Stuck in the Middle With You" was a bit ruined for me, though, because for some reason I remember the Eagles of Death Metal version ("Stuck in the Metal With You") in a Wendy's commercial more. Bleh.

If you've seen Zodiac, I think "Hurdy Gurdy Man" by Donovan works really well at highlighting the spookiness and sadness throughout the movie. I heard it at work yesterday and I immedeately thought of the movie and the murders.

Good movies, although I haven't watched all of Boogie Nights for some reason even though it comes on TV often...
I had Bob Marley stuck in my head too after watching it. Another song I had stuck in my head was "Anyone Else But You" by the Moldy Peaches in the movie Juno =X Now go watch it with Eden!
