ABC, in cancelling what appears to all of its current prime time line-up, bagged one of my few TV guilty pleasures: Brothers and Sisters. It was sappy. It was melodramatic. It had pretty people. It had a pretty gay couple. It had Sally Field. It was, in many ways, the family I wanted: dysfunctional, crazy, but always forgiving in the end, who ( Read more... )

I used to love the show. I actually stopped watching it at the beginning of this last season because I really hated where they were going with Nora Walker. What was once a fairly confident matriarch seemed to turn into a whining, clingy woman who annoyed me and was beneath where I see Sally Fields to be.

I love the guys the best and think they actually had the most realistic and relatable story line. The rest of the couples tanked the show in my opinion.

And I had a hard time relating to their adoption storyline because it is so much smoother and nicer than what Chris and I have to go through. I guess it felt fake because we are in the middle of it and it sucks.

I agree on some levels - and, sadly, it was time. I like that they wrapped up everything nicely in a bow in the last episode, and yes - that everyone was happy. I think Sally's character got stronger this last season.

Also agree RE: the adoption, but you know that far better than I ever will.

All in all, I'll most miss Scotty and Sarah, two characters who really evolved, faced realistic hardships, and were better in the end.

Now I have time to catch up on True Blood.

I also (used to) yell at the TV set when they would be in LA and not blue back court documents. Especially for shows that are filmed in LA and you'd think they'd KNOW!

I'm a little weird that way, LOL.

I am really glad they wrapped up the story and that Nora got a spine back. I haven't followed the show since I stopped watching it, but it was really good at one point and not even one I considered a "guilty pleasure."

They are canning a lot of good shows.

We've realized if we like a show it is doomed.

Firefly, V, Reaper, Human Target, etc.

If they cancel Big Bang I may go postal on someone.
