La Cage #2 last night (of 5, which is a perfectly respectable number of times to go...)
At the same bit that they nearly cracked up on the first night, John /really/ lost it, and hid his face behind his hand for a good minute or so while the audience giggled and he tried to get himself back under control. While Simon just watched him and grinned.
One high point of my trip down last night - theatre was selling his new book (unlike the book-selling places around me) so I bought it - John signed it :) - and read it on the way home (and finished it this morning heh).
Also - I don't know how long they will be doing it for (or when they started, although according to
morbid_sparks they weren't on Thursday matinee yet) but if you've got some spare change when you go along, they're collecting for MacMillan Cancer Care. After all the final bows, John waited for a bit of quiet then explained why they were collecting. All the cast - still in costume - then gathered around all the exit doors with buckets. My small handful of change went into John-in-his-rather-yummy-final-outfit's bucket, lol.
Stage door not quite as crazy as it was on the first night, although still fairly busy as it was a Friday evening performance (reckon my next one, on a Tuesday night, might be quieter lol). Managed to get better pics than from the last time - partly cos in the end I got stuck squashed next to the door for a while so was in a pretty good photo-taking position.
He seemed really pleased to be asked to sign copies of the book - I heard quite a few 'Thanks for buying it's...
No idea what prompted that face in the last one...
Simon Burke once again lovely at stage door. Kindly agreed to photo :)
Bring on 6th October!
