Got back earlier, absolutely exhausted, pretty sure I'm coming down with a cold, but had a FANTASTIC time!
Was disappointed (obviously) on Friday when the news about James broke - but I am much gladder that he stayed on the other side of the pond and be alive than I would have been if he risking flying and possible ended up in a life-threatening condition. And the ME guys said they'd try get him back for another Hub some time!
Saying that, I'm not sure how I could have actually had any more fun had he actually been there. The guests were fantastic, loved meeting all the other attendees...
... and KAI! KAI!!! SURPRISE!KAI!
Gareth got up on the stage Saturday night and started a whole speech about not really being able to do a skit all of his own, so we had to 'close our eyes and hope for a miracle, think of Wales and sheep...' and Kai walked on stage to the HUGEST scream from the audience I've ever heard. He then stuck around and did the sponsored guest thing on Sunday, with autos and photos and did talks.
Gareth was much happier - and a LOT more sober - than the last time. Guess having lots of work on and not being jet-lagged and being able to play the sympathy card on Ianto's death helped a lot!
Rik and Ben both managed to completely hold their own with Gareth/Gareth&Kai in the panel talks - there were a few minor skirtings of the Barrowman line although it did remain intact this time!
I also caught a page of the skit script that got tossed out into the audience *hee*
I did take lots of pics, and I took pages and pages of notes in the talks, so hopefully if I have the time and energy later I will post proper write ups.
