I'm more annoyed by the flaw that Eve was punished for making a mistake before she became aware of good and evil. What's up with that?

Also, remember that it's not just that he was mad that he banished them. He didn't want them to eat the fruit of the Tree of Life as well. So it was more like a security thing.

You raise two good points. However, the thing I'm most concerned about is that the paradise that god created for her and Adam was easily infiltrated by the devil, and that's a far greater security risk than the tree of life, if you ask me. It doesn't speak well of god's power, that's for sure.

Yeah. That's why the Jew version works. Where the serpent is a serpent, and the stuff about he and Eve being enemies is just so quaint and folkloreish.

Also, I was thinking the other day, since God was all like "Hey woman, I'm going to make it hurt for you to have children because you suck", does this mean that painkillers during labor go against the big guy's will?
