I did love the ep - SO MUCH! Gods, that kitchen scene; Cal was so panicked! And he had tears in his eyes because she was crying and oh! They're just so...AWESOME together.

(And I loved Burns, I don't know why, but I just love that finally Foster gets some hotness in her life after all the Cal/OFC-ness so far this season. )

But...on this fic, quote-y time. ;)

He smiled but it didn’t reach his eyes and she smiled back but it didn’t reach hers either. - I just love this line, it's so...them, you know? (Well, obviously you do, you wrote it).

Her steely gaze was the only answer he needed, and he was awed once again by just how strong Gillian actually was. Yes! Because she is! It's a surprising, often hidden strength, but it's there all the same. And I love when Cal notices that.

Yaaay, you've seen it!! That kitchen scene is just so beautiful. It's now in my Top 3 scenes, I think. Although making that list is getting harder and harder

This made me smile so much. I love territorial!Cal in the first one. And I love love love the second one. That just might be my favorite with Cal weathering the storm literally and figuratively with his divorce and Gillian anchoring him. Idk why that was so gorgeous to me, but it was. I love how they're unsure in the third one and that they put on these fronts even though they can see right through them. Hug in the fourth! Their hugs will never get old. And of course, the last one is precious, especially when Em sees them. I could see this when they're together, this peaceful quiet moment.

I loved each and every one of these. Five times fics are so much fun. And you are super awesome for writing this lovely piece. ♥

Your comment made me so happy. I love that you got all of the nuances and meanings behind each section. The second one is a favourite of mine too (I actually nicked it out of my own plot!fic backstory and altered it a little so when that turns up it'll probably look a little familiar) for those very reasons - I really believe that Cal and Gillian are each others' anchors through everything, regardless of whether they're in relationships with other people at the time. The third one was inspired by the last scene of Undercover, one of my absolute favourite scenes, because it showed us that they do see everything but they pretend not to, and I love that. The family unit at the end is what I hope we will get to see some day on the show, and what I hope we will be left with when it ends. ♥

This is my first Five Times fic but I really enjoyed writing it! Thank you so much for your wonderful comments, I'm really happy you loved this so much. ♥
