Author’s Notes: Thank you to my beta, tempertemper77! Roughly set post-3x05 The Canary’s Song because it once again proved what Gillian is capable of, but really it could fit anywhere.

The darker side of their world. Oooh. I'm loving it. Gillian paying off whatever debt Cal has, risking her life like this. Jeez. But I love how steely she is despite the fear and danger. He will never know just what she's done for him. That fact is heartbreaking.

Thank you. I'm quite lacking in inspiration at the moment and everything seems to be on the darker side, but I suppose that's to be expected at the moment! I'm glad you thought this believable for her.

I completely and utterly believe this. It's easy to think sometimes, given the show's massive underuse of Gillian, that she's too ~sensible~ to do something so reckless, but for the people she loves I think she'd do just about anything. You convey that so realistically here. Absolutely perfect hun.

I'm so glad to hear that. It's always a risk taking a character further than they do on the show, but I agree that Gillian's fully capable and they just don't use her to her full potential. I so want to see more of her strength on the show, they're wasting her. Thank you ♥

They really don't use her to her potential AT ALL which absolutely sucks. I can only hope the writers will make some changes soon.

I love how dark, but realistic this is. Their work really can't be so one-sided as it seems on the show. This is dark and dirty and real and I love it. :)

I do feel Gillian would be able to go to this dark place in order to save people she loved. We've seen hints of it on the show, but I would really love to see it fully at some point. Thank you, I'm glad this worked for you! :)
