An initiation right
I am still stuck wondering if I should be here or not. I feel more and more incompetent every day. Some days I just want to cry in the middle of class and today I almost did. I know this is supposed to be difficult but I didn't know I would be so far behind everyone else in my class. Some days I wonder if grad school will even help me acheive

The biggest *HUG* I can give is coming your way. Hang in there! I know you can do it!
I am independent, but I like to be close to my family. And one of the reasons that (at least I think...) I wasnt homesick at all in Ireland was that I knew I had a set end date...I had a plane ticket home.
Hopefully once you get a little more comfortable in the lab, youll be able to ask the right questions and know what youre supposed to do.
I miss you and am always here if you need to vent!

As someone who did something similiar, I can totally understand how you are feeling. My advice to you is to put something fun on your calendar every month (at least). For me it was either a trip to visit Adam, having him visit me, going home to see my family or something that was going on in the area like wine tasting or going to the beach. Then you have something to keep your spirits up and to look forward to every month. I used to count down the days on the calendar and looked forward to crossing off a day just to get closer to what I was looking forward to. For example now you can start counting down to coming to Chicago in October! I hope things get better for you. You can always call me if you need to!
