This is deeply hysterical and I love the character type choices -- paladin is so perfect for John. Loved having him build up relationships with the rest of the team, and how that eased his way in in real life.

This may have been the bit that made me laugh the most, though:

"Sometimes, most of the time, he just looks pasty and a little odd, with facial features that don't quite seem to fit right. Striking but not attractive. But other times, under the right angle when the light is right (just dim enough to throw shadows that make his edges look sharper and his more normal aspects less pronounced), he looks elegantly, inhumanly beautiful."

...because I've read so many fics going on about how beautiful Sherlock is, and sure, he's got the cheekbones to look striking lurking in the shadows, but when you actually look at him he's more interesting-looking than gorgeous. So +1 for realism!
