[Richard hadn't intended to wander past House 53-- he was merely out for a walk, and that was where his aimless wandering happened to take him. In fact, his first instinct when he spots Oz is to say hello... until he notes the way the boy is sitting, that sad, vacant look in his eyes. It's painfully familiar and enough to cause Richard to make his way over to the steps, where he pauses in front of Oz to ask permission before sitting down beside him.]

[Oz looks up and recognises Richard, his smile warming just a little at that. At least it's someone he knows - even if he's not quite himself yet.]

I'd love some.

[Then don't mind Richard just sitting down and making himself comfortable next to Oz-- not too close, because he values his own personal space, but close enough to be companionable.]

Thinking by yourself has its uses, but I've found that sometimes what helps most is having someone else there as well.
