Chase was turning back and forward slightly in his swivel chair trying to work out what the hell Fox had meant by 'HE'S DEAD' in her text message. It had shocked the shit out of him, to the point he actually paged through to the ICU to double check Rob hadn't crashed again. He had managed to get a bit of sleep on the sofa in his office and his ( Read more... )

Fox walked into Chase's office without even knocking, the doctor already expecting her. She had been five minutes like she said, wanting to finish off the Hendrix song she'd been singing softly to Rob after the interruption of the text messages. She couldn't help typing 'HE'S DEAD' to Chase. She was still actually shocked that Rob was dead back home. It potentially meant he was stuck, but she still wasn't ready to believe it. Not until he was awake.

She slid the article she had taken back out of the car across Chase's desk and took the seat opposite him. She leaned back as she waited for him to notice it, and read it. She arched her eyebrow at the bottle and smirked. "Started already?"

Chase picked up the article with a frown and waved his fingers a little. "No, knock yourself. Trust me, you really don't want to get me drunk. I'm the dancing naked on table tops with undies on my head type. Oh, and bad, bad Karaoke." He was still frowning as he finally started to read the words printed on the newspaper clipping. "Holy fuck. Where did you get his? Is it a hoax? Has someone planted this to try and set a firecracker up our arses to get a quicker answer?"

Fox didn't need to be told twice as she reached forward to grab the bottle, remembering to poor a generous shot of Vodka into a glass before she just started to skull the whole thing. She raised the glass in silent toast before she knocked back the alcohol in one smooth swallow. "Remind me to never, ever get drunk with you," Fox smirked. She gave a shake of her head as she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. "Not unless they can conjure up his car, his car keys, his grandfather's tags, a torn up marriage certificate, a certificate of divorce, and this. It's a lot of trouble just to fuck with you."

Chase rubbed his hand over his mouth and shook his head. He stared at the print, reading it again, and then again for good measure. "Do you know if he died of an illness? Was this the year he came here?" This was terrible. This meant if they didn't save him here, there was no going back to his life where he left off, because there was no life to go back to. He swallowed and looked up at her in concern. "Are you okay?"
