[OTA] Gotta be a space anomaly...right?

It had happened a year into their five year mission. The failure that it seemed that everyone in Starfleet had been waiting for from the Enterprise’s terribly young crew. The mission was flawed from the start, they’d gotten bad intelligence, and they’d basically warped into a trap that neither Jim nor Spock nor any of the other bridge crew had been ( Read more... )

Buffy's eyebrows shot up the moment the man appeared in front of her. She also had an urge to cover herself up, even if she was in a bikini. It just felt like one of those moments where she'd been enjoying some private naked time, and been sprung.

She felt her mouth drop open, and a squeak escape. She might have been the Slayer, but there were still some things that caught her off guard. "Ah... hi. Welcome to Eating Liberals Island. No wait, that's not right. Um, it's something French... Etching Lime?"

Jim could become a fan of this place really fast if it included nearly naked, beautiful women lying about everywhere. He raised and eyebrow and moved the few steps over to her, smirking.

"Well hopefully we're not eating liberals or etching limes, as neither of those sound particularly enjoyable,"

"I know it's an EL thing of some kind... Although if it was etching limes, at least you'd be able to invite someone up to see your etchings. I've always wanted to use that line. It's pretty old, but hey, it used to work, right? Of course those were also the more damesly type girls that liked their petticoats and not flashing their ankles, so maybe it doesn't say much..." Buffy had relaxed now, dropping her arms back to her sides as she realised that yes, she was covered. Somewhat. It was the first day she'd really taken the chance to enjoy the sunshine and ocean.

She blinked, holding her hand up to shade her eyes as she took a better look at the new comer. "Holy hot stranger, Batman..." She wasn't really complaining so much now about her quiet time getting interrupted. "Hi," she said again.

"EL...perhaps, 'Enticing Ladies'? Enticing Ladies to view etched limes after a feast where they'd Eaten Liberals?" He's grinning now, flashing her his best grin at that 'hot-stranger' comment, because it turns out she's not only quite nice in that skimpy two-piece, but also smart. Anyone who recognized James T. Kirk's attractiveness was definitely worth his time. Giving up on keeping sand out of his dress uniform, he settled down on the beach next to her.

"Hi," he replied, mimicking the woman and shading the sun out of his eyes as he offered a hand - and wasn't being a captain rubbing off on him, a year ago and he would have just oggled her. Shamlessly. "Jim Kirk,"
