Off the clock {OTA}

It wasn’t the busiest night she’d ever seen since working at the club, but that didn’t mean Faith wasn’t ready for her shift to be over. She wore her usual leather pants and halter top that left little to the imagination, a pair of low heeled boots managing to complete the look. It didn’t scream bouncer which let her mingle with the crowd a little ( Read more... )

Well, turned out he was stuck on this island. Stuck until some magical being that no one seemed to understand decided that they were done being here, that they were rested, that they were ready and nothing they did was going to change that. It drove him up a wall. He was used to science and simulations, or real life battles, puzzles he could figure out, but this...this was a no-win scenario and he couldn't overcome it. Except...for an insurmountable challenge, it sure did have a few perks. Like six weeks of amusement at apparently, no cost to him.

And Buffy had mentioned a strip club, so when he'd gotten a chance he'd headed here, looking for a damn drink and maybe some company of the kind he hadn't gotten since he got his commendation. After all, Captains weren't supposed to be sleeping around with every pretty thing that passed their way, now where they? And granted, he did sleep with a lot of pretty things, but it was all very discreet, all very behind closed doors and none of the fun, flirtatiousness that was second nature to ( ... )

She normally brushed off come ons from people in the club. You weren't supposed to mix business with pleasure since it usually led to bad thing happening. Dean had kind of set the standard for that one after the incident with the twins, and then Candy or Caty or whatever her name had been, and... actually, the list had been pretty damn long. It had also proven why the theory was sound.

The only problem was that when she looked up to discourage the guy, whatever rude dismissal had been on her tongue died. He was gorgeous. Exceptionally so. "Damn."

Faith took her time checking him out before finishing her drink and smiling. "Jack and coke, and yes you can."

Now, that was the kind of reply Jim Kirk was used to getting, and one he could get used to again. He smirked and let her take her look, spending that time giving her the same treatment. She was quite the exceptional woman and he turned to the bar tender, motioning for another of hers and a second for himself, turning and propping himself closer to her.

"Jim Kirk,"

"Faith." She shifted so that she was facing him, the arrival of her fresh drink going mostly unnoticed. "I'm gonna guess you're new, Jim."

Wesley didn't like strip bars, not because he had anything against them, but on a sort of vague English Gentlemanly Principle. It wasn't the exchange of money or any of those other objections people normally have to stip clubs. Despite many English "gentlemen"'s actions to the contrary, it just didn't seem proper to Wesley for people to be so shamelessly . . . sensual . . . so publicly. What they did was their own business, but couldn't they at least be a bit more discreet about it?

But he did come visit, just because Faith's words had piqued his interest, and he enjoyed his drink even if he didn't enjoy the show.

And, speak of the devil, there she was at the end of the bar, sipping a drink. As he glanced over, she happened to be looking about at the same time, and he could see that she spotted him looking at her. Trapped in the awkwardness of mutual spotting, he raised his hand in a vague sort of hello, leaving it up to her to ignore him or not.

It had been a while since she'd seen Wes, and Faith hadn't honestly expected it to be in the club when she finally ran into him again. Giving him a slight smile and nod of her head, she held up her drink. It was an invitation to join her if he felt inclined, one she wasn't sure she wanted him to take her up on or not. They had both agreed to a fresh start when he arrived, she supposed this was as good a way to keep that up as any.
