[OTA] Just another sunny day

James walked around the resort for a bit, his newly borrowed library book tucked under his arm. James had been thinking a lot about his meeting with Sirius. The conversation itself wasn't at all weird, it was the fact that Sirius was considerably older than James. Sirius had a lot more experience with life outside of Hogwarts, even if a portion was ( Read more... )

Draco was lost in his own thoughts as he used the park as a shortcut from the resort to the town. He needed to pick up a few things, with condoms suddenly right up on the list. He was still in a bit of a daze about the encounter with Harry, what it led to, and what came after it. He had become well convinced Harry was just a lost cause, and right when he gave up, Harry appeared and stuck his tongue down his throat.

He put a hand up and tugged briefly on his lower lip, remembering the kiss. It was a kiss he probably wouldn't forget. His mind really was elsewhere, so he wasn't paying much attention. It was no surprise really that he suddenly tripped over some person's feet, but he managed to catch himself before he fell, frowning in annoyance, probably more at himself than anyone else. An irritated and harsh expletive fell from his lips as he righted himself and glanced at the guy. He nearly didn't apologise. He couldn't always quite shake his past. But still, he glanced at the guy and cleared his throat. "Sorry," he muttered.

James was so involved with the book that he hadn't noticed anyone walking by until he felt something hit his feet and heard a loud expletive. Upon glancing up James almost drew his wand, for the blurry figure before him looked strikingly close to Lucius Malfoy. James grabbed his glasses and properly took a look at the man standing before him. He was right in some sense because the figure did resemble Lucius, but it wasn't him.

"It's alright, no harm done. James Potter," he smiled as he stood up and stuck out his hand. No use resorting to schoolboy antics and hexing just yet, might as well meet the guy first and go from there.

Draco's grey eyes just locked on James' face and he didn't reach for his hand at first. He wasn't exactly sure what he was supposed to do with that piece of information. Harry's dead father was on the island, and Harry hadn't said a word about it. Of course, Draco hadn't said a word about a lot of other things, too, so it was possible the subject just didn't come up in conversation. They were both... distracted, so to speak. It wasn't like it was Draco's fault Harry's parents were dead, but there was this whole six degrees of separation thing that meant Draco was automatically uncomfortable, though not particularly surprised considering Black was on the island too.

Outwardly, Draco's expression remained unreadable, which wasn't uncommon when he was thrust out of his comfort zone. He only showed his true emotions to people he trusted. He soon took James hand and gave it a brief shake. "Draco," he introduced himself, and it was only then he noticed a copy of the old book from his own school days. "My apologies again for disturbing you

James cocked his head to the side as the man stared at him. Was a bit unnerving really, but James had the feeling this fellow knew who he was but wasn't about to acknowledge it for some reason. Damn, those grey eyes and blonde hair reminded him so much of Lucius. This had to be his son, James was almost sure of it...but he didn't want to embarrass himself or the other man by asking so he kept the thought to himself. James figured Harry must have gone to Hogwarts with Malfoy's offspring, no doubt with the same animosity between them as their fathers had.

"Nice to meet you, Draco." James saw him glance down at the book. "Don't worry about it. I've only read this about a hundred times, plus another twenty." James chuckled.
