Even Slayers have to eat {OTA}

If there was one thing she loathed more than anything else, it was buying groceries. Yeah, she was gainfully employed so affording them wasn't an issue. She'd even learned how to cook a few things since getting here which surprised the hell out of her- but the simple act of having to buy the stuff is what got her. Trying to take a shopping cart and ( Read more... )

Karolina couldn't remember the last time she'd been to the supermarket without the intent to shoplift. It had become necessary ever since The Pride had been discovered and defeated. Without parents to support them, Karolina and her friends had to support themselves. With a new evil out to get them each week, that was a notably difficult task. Actual jobs weren't an option- they had to stay under the radar. Stepping into the store, she remembered the times she and her friends had spent sunday mornings sneaking cereal boxes from market shelves ( ... )

She'd been fully prepared to cop an attitude until the apologies started spilling out and she couldn't find it in herself to be a bitch. Faith was still way too thankful for the lack of kids in the place. Aside from a potential bruise or two she wasn't exactly damaged beyond repair.

"Five by five, no worries."

The longer she stood there looking at the girl the more obvious it became that she was a newbie. It explained a lot.

"You must still be gettin' settled in." She extended a hand and smirked. "Faith."

"I'm Karolina," she said, placing the remaining scattered items into her basket. She stood up and balanced the basket on one arm in order to shake Faith's hand. "Yeah, I just got here like...a few days ago. I'm actually still kind of stunned every day I wake up and don't have to deal with my real life."

"Preaching to the choir on that one. I've been here for a few months now myself and it's still kind of a shock to be in some tropical paradise instead of Cali." The notable lack of vampires was also something she was still getting used to.

It was always only going to be a matter of time before Tim got fed up with people shoving piece of lemon in the top of his beer bottles. He got sick of being served it with a napkin. He got sick of that one gay bar dude who put an umbrella in his beer. It should all be aganst the law, really. A supermarket with six packs inevitably ended up being his destination. He had hoped he might track Six again at some point to take him to the beach, but he figured the lucky bastard was off with his Rollo, or Ramrod, or whatever her name was. Six and his wheelchair... Tim knew it was a chick magnet.

He had a six pack under each arm as he sauntered out of the liquor aisle and couldn't help but notice the hot chick with the shopping cart. He smirked. "Nice night for it," he greeted her.

Faith turned her head in the direction of the voice and didn't bother trying to hide the fact that she was giving him the once over. She caught sight of the beer and returned his smirk.

"Yeah, it is. More of a whiskey girl myself, though."

"Oh yeah? You like it smooth and hard, do ya?" Tim juggled the boxes so they were both under one arm. A couple of six packs were hardly an effort after carrying a six foot, two hundred odd pound of muscular cripple QB. He held his hand out to her. "Tim Riggins," he said, eyes dripping appreciatively to her cleavage.

"Got it in one." She smirked at the line, deciding then and there that this kid was definitely gonna be fun. "Nice to meet you, Tim. I'm Faith."

The direction his gaze had traveled to didn't go unnoticed and she bit her lip as she shook his hand.

While the supermarket was devoid of bratfaced kids, there was one girl wandering around the aisles, looking at amazement at all of the things the place held. Once she had gotten settled in, she decided a little exploring was in order, what with this new human body and all!

She's a rather innocent looking thing, wandering around barefooted still, clutching the sides of her blue sundress. It's quite a bit of information to take in.

In her distraction, she walks right into Faith, blinking and stumbling backwards.

"Oh, I apologize," she says quietly. She's getting used to this human thing pretty quickly. Or so she hopes.

Faith throws a smile and a casual shrug to the other woman. "All good, no worries."
She's looking her over when her gaze lands on the woman's bare feet and her eyebrow raises in question.

"Think you forgot something on the beach."
