When a guy by the pool pointed out to Jason one morning last week that there was popular diner in town, Jason had been surprised. He hadn't explored the town as much as he probably should, so it wasn't too surprising he hadn't found the diner. But the conversation alone was enough to make him realise he should see more of what the island offered ( Read more... )

Rory had been taking a break from the front desk of the resort, determined to find somewhere new for lunch. So far she'd managed to try at least each place once just so she could create a list of the best places to eat. All of them were pretty good, but when she saw the diner her heart skipped a beat.

She had to wonder if the place was as good as Luke's. She immediately thought of Stars Hollow, and her mother, and Luke. She shifted her weight, and seemed to hesitate as she thought about going in. Then she glanced through the window and spotted a certain guy in a wheelchair and the decision was made as she pushed the door open and entered the diner.

Rory made her way to Jason's table and dropped down in the seat next to his with a smile. "Of all the diners in all the world, you just had to roll into mine," she said in her best impression of Humphrey Bogart.

Jason grinned when he saw Rory entered and laughed at her cheesy joke. "Hey, baby. To what do I owe this unexpected pleasure?" he asked, catching her lips with a soft kiss. "You hungry?" he asked, offering over his plate with the burger and fries.

Rory laughed herself as she rest her hand on his arm and leaned in to kiss his cheek before taking a fry. "You do realise it's dangerous to start offering me food, don't you? I might wind up eating the whole thing and then you get nothing. What kind of girlfriend would I be then?"

"We-elll," Jason said teasingly. "It would make me a really good boyfriend," he pointed out, laughing. "Are you telling me you actually get breaks from that torture chamber that is the resort reception? And you came out without a limp. I'm highly impressed, you know. I was worried we might need to fight for my chair."

Tim sauntered through the diner to the booths lining the back wall and dropped down into Jason's across for him, reaching over and stealing a handful of fries. "J Six," he drawled with a smirk. "Have ya' hidin' from me, dude? That ain't real polite, ya' know."

"Dude, you spend all your time hanging out on the beach with random T and A. What part of cripple don't you get?" Jason snorted with a laugh. "No long walks on the beach at sunset, remember?"

"Ya' just had t'tell me ya' wanted a date, Six. I mighta even brought flowers," Tim replied, still smirking. "And it ain't like ya' ain't gettin' some T and A of ya' own lately. Dude, ya' here like, one day, and score. I gotta book an appointment with ya' to get time away from ya' Rory chick. Not that there is anythin' wrong with that. I think it's cool, dude. She's cool. Ya' always had a way with the chicks. First ya' had the QB thing, now it's the cripple thing. Dude, ya' set for life. Got the mystery happenin'. Chicks can't see ya' ass so they fantasise about what ya' sittin' on."

Jason just blinked at Tim's reasoning. "So, why haven't you tackled me out of this chair and used it for your own picking up, huh? There's more to life than sex, dude. I don't think Rory was soley fantasising about my ass when we met. Things just... progressed, and she's fantastic."
