Something I'll admit I've never gotten: "It doesn't matter who you vote for, just vote!"

Never understood it. I get civic duty and all, but I can't see how the country wouldn't be better with a smaller number of informed people voting vs mass numbers of people voting based on the color of the candidates hair or something.

a true democracy is really scary. luckily, we have a democratic republic that tightens things up a bit. Still it is scary thinking about how many go into vote with little or no real background. I cringe every time I see judges on the ballot that I have never heard of before.
