Salt on the road? Thats because of snow, right? Thats not really an issue here.
We have an 1983 Urvan (the newest car we've ever owned!) which I'm hoping will last long enough for me to graduate.
I think if you see a rust stop you sand it and put fish oil on it and that halts the rust. I remember my father doing that alot when I was young, as if our shitheap cars weren't bad enough stinking like a fihmonger just pushed it over the edge.
If there is a water shortage I would think they would use the spring water for household usage rather than wasting it on cars.. I dont think cars even need to be washed well unless you live in climates like pa where your car would rust in days because of the salts but otherwise just dirt washing is unneeded, that is very wasteful but I guess people will do anything just to bring in a buck. Is it dry there most of the year? do you get any snow at all or is it continious dry heat
It rains but Australia is one the driest countries in the world and where I snapped this was the capital of the driest state in the country (adelaide). Weirdly I snapped it just before it started to rain. It only snows for a very short season in a very small mountanous area which borders my state and the one above it. I've never seen snow in my life. Nor have most of my family. For years we've had water restrictions where (for example) you can't use sprinklers or hoses on certain days of the week. Or at all during the day. Where you have to get permits to fill up pools & fountains. Many rural areas are officially in a drought. The city I grew up in even in winter you still wear a t shirt most of the time. If it rains it usually stops after a couple of minutes & the sun comes out again so you're stuck carrying around coats, jumpers & umbrellas in the hot sun.

And that was in the driest state in the country.
So wasteful.
I thik theres a few springs in NSW & Vic but not SA. But geography was never my strong point.
