[ So if you just happen to be walking through Luceti today, you might spot a girl sitting on the ground next to a tree at the side of the road. Her journal is opened in her lap, and it seems she's rather focused on reading it. See, there's nothing weird about that, but.. she's still wearing the New Feather dress and doesn't seem bothered or ( Read more... )

*entry, a totally normal girl, nothing weird here move on, super observatory abilities, stuck on repeat, *ic, who needs social skills, danger to herself, completely oblivious, genius girl, at least there's no violin

[... There's no way he could not respond to this message when he knew the language of origin for half those words.] Are you proficient with all these languages?

Yes. All of them.

[ She nods a little in return at that, and even though she seems majorly spaced out (read: she always looks majorly spaced out) it seems genuine. And it's true, she really does know all of them. ]

If I didn't know them, I wouldn't know how to greet you with them, right?

It's entirely plausible to know certain phrases, but not be fluent in the language they are from. [Though that is some skill she has there, and a useful one to add to it.]

I speak English and Japanese, as well as German and French. But you will find that regardless of what language you speak the villagers will understand you, therefore there is no need to list them all.

... Ah. In that case, I'm fluent in most of these languages. Some take a little more practice though, I think.

[ She nods a little to herself. The last part is more surprising though. ]

What do you mean..? People here can automatically understand any kind of language? Are they.. that smart?

Eh... [Well, this is sort of amazing. It's a little weird, but it's cool enough to be a great distraction from his journey to the library! It's almost an educational experience!]

Hello?

Hello.

[ YES, MADE CONTACT ONCE AGAIN. Tomoya would be so proud of her.

... Except that's all she says in response, not even continuing or anything. She just stands there, staring, as if she's spacing off a little. (She probably is just basking in her slight accomplishment for a moment, not realising she actually has to continue this.) ]

... [Okay, small barrier in communications detected!] Ah... is this where I introduce myself, Miss?

[ oh, the word 'introduce' seems to make the rest of the process be put into motion. ]

My name is Kotomi Ichinose. [ no, Kotomi, he was going to introduce himself, not you.. ] I'm a senior from class A. My hobby is reading. When referring to me, please call me 'Kotomi-chan'.

[Sup? Just a cartoon pony trotting along, minding her own business... until she spots Kotimi and stares for a second.]

Uh... hey?

[That's quite the greeting, to say the least.]

[ ... It's a talking horse. Now this is more interesting than rambling off hello in all languages, and for a few moments she just stares at Rainbow Dash quietly, but maybe slightly surprised. It's hard to tell with her blank expression. ]

... You can talk.

[Hoo boy. Dash is at least used to this by now, and she just lifts a hoof and flicks it.]

Yep, I can talk. Everypony can where I'm from.

Where I'm from, not every pony can talk.. [ yes, just taking over the use of 'everypony' as if she just said 'every pony'. ] In fact, I've never met any pony at all who could talk before.
