paper conference yesterday. the comment i remember most: "don't worry too much about your paper. you probably write better than most people can do math." i don't think that's saying much?

algebra exam back today: maybe had i studied AT ALL (it was closed book) it would have turned out a little better. (wasn't awful.) however, one of the comments was to the effect of "you need to write better." story of my life at reed, apparently. (wait. no. an english teacher in 8th grade said i was too.... she didn't say prolix, but the word she used was in an (naturally defined) equivalence class with prolix.) to prof in comment 1: i suck at writing math, too. (it's true. i think i'm worse at writing math than at writing, er... those things. papers.)

birthday tuesday: was AWESOME. thanks to you readers who did that. it was special. (and sorry for unintentionally makin ya wait around...)

today: the antepenultimate day before Q***. (dang, i don't think that parses, at all, but i woke up this morning with that phrase in my head. and i really like the word "antepenultimate.") i'll just not use the word. it's four letters, you know.

also yesterday: in yet another class, we got homework. due monday. i think i stapled the assignment with my abstract homework and turned it in ---- ooops like whoa. otherwise i LOST it.

saturday, after the thing: time to celebrate! and you do that with this little organic molecule (compound?) called.....

i've been thinking, no one is ever chem-math, but i think it would be hot. there's the prof at Pomona who wrote a book called "topological chemistry" or something. and there's a lot o' group theory that can be applied to chem. and... other stuff maybe. well, actually, maybe it's a dumb idea. but i were [sic] thinkin'.
