today, when i tried to make sore throat tea, there was a fire inside my 'lektric [sic] kettle. this makes me sad.

also, boiling water in a regular kettle on a stove takes a long fucking time.

not inside the bit where you put the water, but in the bit with all of the electronics. i'm guessing that something just shorted out and made a little flame. and smoke.
